Note: Ministry begins in the home. If you cannot care for thos immediate and extended family God has entrusted to your care, how can you truly ben an example to and care for those outside of your natural family.
- First make sure you have a personal and intimate relationship with Christ.
- Recognize this may not be the ministry God is leading you into.
- Pray for guidance, if you have a knowing within you and a peace about beginning this ministry, then proceed. Before you pray, however, what prayer is and the three things God wants from us. God wants three things from us:
- Pray - Have a two way conversation with God. This means begin by listening before you talk. Then you begin your petition to God in the manner that Jesus taught:
- Reverence - Praise, worship, and acknowledge the divinity and awesomeness of God.
- Pray that God's will is done both on Earth and in Heaven. Ask him to show you what that will is.
- Ask God to provide your needs, thank him for everything he has already provided for you. (Remember, he already knows your needs, but he still likes to hear you ask.)
- Ask God to help you to forgive those who have wronged you and others you care about; and then confess, turn from, and ask his forgiveness for all of your own sins.
- Ask for God's help in winning the Spiritual war against the attacks of Satan and his demons.
- Once again reverence God and close the prayer.
- Study - Study the Word of God, daily.
- Act - Act on those things God has revealed to you.
